4th Class 2012-2013

A Glimpse into the Past

This year we sourced a number of artefacts from our parents, grandparents, neighbours and friends.  It was a great way for us to have a glimpse into life in the past. Among the numerous artefacts on display were old photographs, a watch, a bottle, a policeman’s whistle and a christening gift set which comprised of a silver spoon and tongue scraper.

We really enjoyed reading and writing poetry this year. We read adjective poems, acrostic poems, descriptive poems, rhyming poems, descriptive poems, question poems and our favourite, Limericks.

There was a young boy from Cork

He ate his dinner with a knife and fork

He got a pain in his belly

And went to watch telly

‘Now that’s the last time I’ll ever eat pork!
