Physical Education

The pupils and teachers in Creevy National School enjoy and appreciate the Physical Education element of the Curriculum immensely. While one hour of PE is included each week in the timetable, the classes around the school often incorporate other active learning methods into their daily routine and utilise discretionary time for further physical activity. The PE curriculum includes six different strands (Athletics, Dance, Gymnastics, Games, Outdoor and Adventure and Aquatics), five of which are covered every year.  Here are some examples below of different classes enjoying different elements of the Curriculum

Junior infants explored dance as part of their PE lessons. As you can imagine, they loved every minute of it. Some great movers and shakers in that room.

2nd Class enjoying games, one of their Hurling sessions with GAA coaches Brian and Stephen.

We enjoy a block of weekly swimming lessons at Ballyshannon Leisure Centre. 4th Class were there and met some of the radio presenters from OCEAN FM when they did a live broadcast from Ballyshannon Leisure Centre! Some of the class were lucky to be interviewed live on the radio! It was great fun!!
